SKU: ME2500-EPCategories:

Designed for work involving high thermal stresses, this sleeved apron is made from 500 g/m² aluminized para-aramid fiber. It provides effective protection for the front of the body and arms against radiant heat, flames, convective heat, and molten metal splashes during oxygen lance cutting operations.

Its lightweight and ventilated coat-style design provides excellent freedom of movement while reducing heat build-up inside the garment. The aluminized layer also helps limit oxygen accumulation inside the garment in the event of an oxygen lance leak.

Technical specifications

  • Material: 500 g/m² aluminized para-aramid fiber
  • Design: Sleeved apron, similar to a coat but lighter and more breathable
  • Protection: Front of the body and arms only
  • Rear central closure on shoulder cover with hook-and-loop fastening
  • Front closure version available upon request
  • Protective underflap at the back on the shoulder cover
  • Waist retaining chain at the back
  • Low or high collar made of water-repellent full-grain leather
  • Hook-and-loop adjustable cuffs available upon request
  • All seams made with KEVLAR® thread for excellent thermal and mechanical resistance
  • Available versions:
    • Unlined
    • Cotton Proban® lined for enhanced comfort

Recommended applications

This aluminized apron is particularly suitable for:

  • Oxygen lance cutting operations, where the thermal risk is mainly located in front of the operator and stops once the lance is switched off.
  • Work performed in front of furnaces emitting high levels of radiant heat.
  • Applications requiring enhanced protection against front-facing thermal hazards.

Warning – Protection limitations

The back is not protected.

This garment must only be used when the operator is working facing the hazard. It is not recommended in the event of:

  • significant molten metal splashes,
  • explosion risks,
  • situations requiring full-body protection.

In the event of a leak or if the operator needs to leave the work area quickly, the back remains exposed.

For optimum protection against splashes, combining a hood + sleeved apron + gaiters creates an overlapping “tile effect” protection system, helping to prevent the penetration of incandescent particles.
