Northstar Serendipity tube

WT-001 Serendipity is a must-have WonderTubing for glass artists seeking rich and dynamic visual effects. This multi-layer glass tube combines an outer layer of NS-13 Amber/Purple applied over two layers of NS-54 Star White, creating a unique sense of depth and contrast.

Thanks to its triple dip structure, Serendipity offers excellent flame stability and reliable color performance. Artists can work it in any type of flame, making it a highly versatile material. For best results, it is recommended to use a hot, aggressive, and oxidizing flame to remove the initial metallic haze on the surface during the early heating stages.

To achieve the characteristic purple strike of Amber Purple, the glass must be heated aggressively with a strong, precise flame in order to remove the initial metallic deposit on the surface.

Once this step is mastered, the colors reveal their full richness and complexity. The tube can then be flame-struck or kiln-struck, depending on the desired effect and technique. This flexibility allows for a wide range of outcomes, from subtle transitions to bold contrasts.

Important note: The tubes are hand-drawn using an artisanal process. The glassmaker heats a mass of molten glass and stretches it to form the tube, which can result in natural variations in diameter and wall thickness along its length. These tolerances can sometimes be significant depending on the batch and are an inherent part of the manufacturing process, giving each piece its unique character.
