The rod resists rapid temperature changes and is not sensitive to the flame atmosphere. However, reduction on the aventurine should be avoided before implosion. Do not exceed 566 °C during the annealing cycle and anneal your pieces for the shortest time possible. Also, limit the waiting time of your pieces before annealing, as it can affect the quality, color stability, or strength of the glass.
