Double Passion from Glass Alchemy is a transparent striking color. It shifts from amber to violet, showing rich tones in between. This rod reacts to heat by gradually developing yellow, orange, pink, and then magenta shades.

Double Passion perfectly complements the other colors in the Passion range:

• Singular Passion : a soft, low-saturation color. It stays within golden yellow to pale yellow hues. It shifts from transparent to opalescent depending on heat. Easy to control, it layers well and allows subtle effects. Ideal for bright finishes and delicate details.
• Passion Extreme : a saturated, deep color. It quickly turns into an intense violet with spectacular metallic effects. Perfect for strong contrasts and glossy finishes.
• Triple Passion : a borosilicate rod rich in silver. It shifts from amber to violet with blue and green nuances depending on encasement. Its unique formula ensures a fast, even transition.

Less saturated than Triple Passion, Double Passion gives you more control. You can work the color slowly. This reveals lighter shades like pink or magenta without going straight to dark violet.

The color contains a small amount of silver. On the surface, this creates light cream or pale blue clouds. You can adjust these effects by controlling the flame, especially the propane-to-gas ratio. A softer flame brings out warm tones. A propane-rich flame develops opalescent effects.

Double Passion works very well for blowing. You can also use it for solid sculpture. In thin layers, the color stays bright. In thicker layers, it gains depth. Enclosing it in clear glass enhances internal contrasts.

To reset the color, heat it to white hot. Then restart the striking process to achieve the desired effect.
