Clear and profiled tubes
Glasswork basics
You can find a large selection of borosilicate tubes, plain or profiled, clear or coloured. All our tubes are ISO 9001 certified. Most of our tubes are made by Simax Kavalier, leader in this market, and a brand we are proud to represent in France, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Our tubes are all made of borosilicate glass.
Borosilicate glass is mainly made of sand, up to 80% of its weight. This material has a better chemical inertia than soda-lime glass. The key difference is that the latter does not include any derivative from bore, while the borosilicate glass has some bore trioxyde as its main ingredient. Because of this chemical composition, borosilicate glass is more resistant to thermal shock than soda-lime glass.
There are two main categories of tubes :
- Simple tubes are perfect to get a transparent and seamless glass once transformed.
- Profiled tubes will enable you to create groove in a venitian style.
Depending on the nature of your project, the thickness of the tube might be crucial. We try to propose a wide range of thickness for all our products.

Difficult question – there is a huge range of colors available, and even more combinaison possible. Your need really depends on your project and our tastes : we would advise you to order samples of the rods you like so that you can make some tests before taking your decision.
For a glass sculpture project, we advise you to pick a slightly larger diameter for your rod that you would usually pick, in order to facilitate the stretching of the glass and have some more material if needed.
