Description

The Glass Alchemy Jackpot rod is an ultra-saturated sparkle color that delivers exceptional brilliance for all your glass creations. If you like the color Paparazzi but want a higher concentration of sparkle, Jackpot is the perfect solution. This glitter-rich color works beautifully with encasement and can be blended with other shades to create unique, custom sparkle effects.

When working with Jackpot, it’s important to maintain a solid heat base to prevent a gray haze that can dull the color. Jackpot prefers a neutral flame to fully reveal its stunning sparkle. The recommended garage temperature is 975°F (524°C), and annealing should be done at 1050°F (566°C).

According to artist Mike Shelbo, Jackpot stands out thanks to its large sparkle flakes that produce intense shine and a spectacular range of reflected colors. You can manipulate this color in many ways—striping, twisting, pressing, or layering—to alter the final appearance of the sparkle. Each technique changes the texture and surface finish.

Jackpot is extremely versatile: it works equally well for solid or blown glass, with or without encasement. Thin blown pieces or stretched filaments remain transparent while still offering remarkable shimmer. A thin layer of clear glass can always be added to enhance brightness and protect the surface.

This color is perfect for artists looking to create bold, radiant effects, ideal for marbles, sculptures, and sophisticated designs. The Glass Alchemy Jackpot rod can also be layered under other transparent colors to enrich your compositions even further.
