Working Tips
To erase strike history, heat this color to white hot. Effects vary depending on flame or kiln exposure time. The more you work the color, the deeper the purple becomes.

Passion Extreme perfectly complements the other colors in the Passion family:

• Singular Passion : a soft, low-saturation color. It stays within the golden yellow to off-white range. Depending on the heat, it shifts from transparent to opalescent. Easy to control, it layers well and creates subtle effects. Ideal for bright finishes and delicate details.
• Triple Passion : a silver-rich borosilicate rod. It shifts from amber to purple, with blue and green highlights depending on encapsulation. Its unique formula ensures quick and even color transitions.

This color is full of potential. As you work Passion Extreme, the purple deepens gradually. If you want an even darker tone, place it in the kiln at 1100°F (593°C) for an additional 15–20 minutes.

You can alter the surface layer of the Passion Extreme rod by applying a hot, sharp flame to the exterior. This breaks through the silver buildup and reverses the “skin” of the color, enabling a range of finishes. The final effect depends on how you expose the color to flame or kiln.

Passion Extreme performs beautifully in both blown and solid work. Fine stringers retain their color, making it perfect for detailed applications. When encased in clear glass, it produces smoky light-blue effects over its base tone. It pairs exceptionally well with Glass Alchemy Raven and looks stunning over Glass Alchemy Sno White in veiled cane work.
